Holiday Greetings
A.R.T., Inc. had a stellar line-up of art shows and demos lined up for 2020, but the pandemic shattered our plans as it ravaged the U.S.
We did get off to a good start with a very successful Members’ Art Show in the Adobe Art Gallery.
In February, there was standing room only in the Redwood Studio as Azar Vaghefi gave a demonstration on how to paint still life using oil paint. In March, another very popular artist, Monica Satterthwaite demoed watercolor techniques. Then the shut down came.
In April, due to Shelter-in-Place, most activities were cancelled. This included our Awards Show sponsored by the Castro Valley Rotary and scheduled to be in Hayward City Hall’s John O’Lague Galleria.
Fortunately, by using Google Photos, we were able to move our shows online. In August, we started improving our website. In October, we launched our fourth online show on the A.R.T., Inc. website.
Needless to say, there will be no annual holiday party or boutique at the Sun Gallery which has always brought out many community members for a fun mixer.
We’re so happy to have our new board members-Usha Shukla, Anna Kim, Wenonah Washington and Al Murdach.
We welcome visitors to attend our Zoom board meetings and become involved in A.R.T., Inc.
The A.R.T., Inc. board hopes to sponsor Zoom demos and help our membership become more tech savvy as we try to help everyone stay safely at home.
