As a very young child, I remember art always being a part of my life.  Both parents were naturally talented in drawing, painting and sculpting.  Visiting an art gallery and browsing through art books were common events growing up.

Graduating from college with a Bachelors of Arts Degree, an Elementary/Secondary Teaching Credential, and a Library Media Degree, I began a 20-year career in education as a classroom teacher and librarian.  My art background helped integrate the elements of art in both the classroom and library curriculums.  I found children’s art not only free and fun, but wonderfully inspiring.  My second career in yearbook publishing for 14 years also required art talent using color, composition, and design when building school yearbook pages.

Now retired after 34 years in education, I have come full circle to begin a life rediscovering drawing and painting.  Using vibrant color, approaching a canvas like a child, and having time to experiment, have become my creative goals.

I have recently finished writing, illustrating, and self-publishing my first children’s book,  Alphabet Bears for Children.
